Chief among these banned books are the Protestant Bibles which the Catholic Church condemns as false. Guerra y Alva exhorts Catholics to maintain their faith in the one true church, the Holy Catholic faith, and to shun and abhor all books and teachings which discredit the church and would tempt people away from their God-given religion.
