An account of the resource
Printed broadside by the parish Priest José María del Refugio Guerra y Alva (ordained Bishop of Zacatecas on 29 December 1872) decrying the influx of prohibited books, brought into a the country from the United States. Chief among these banned books are the Protestant Bibles which the Catholic Church condemns as false. Guerra y Alva exhorts Catholics to maintain their faith in the one true church, the Holy Catholic faith, and to shun and abhor all books and teachings which discredit the church and would tempt people away from their God-given religion. Comunicado imprimido por el Padre Parroquial José María del Refugio Guerra y Alva (ordenado obispo de Zacatecas el 29 de diciembre, 1872). En este comunicado, el Padre Guerra y Alva censura la afluencia de libros prohibidos, introducidos en el país a través de los Estados Unidos. De gran preocupación es que entre estos libros prohibidos, se encuentran las biblias Protestantes que la Iglesia Católica condena como falsas enseñanzas. Guerra y Alva exhorta a los católicos que mantengan la santa fe Católica como la única y verdadera Iglesia, y que eviten y aborrezcan todos los libros y enseñanzas que desacreditan la Iglesia y separan a la gente lejos de la religión que Dios les ha dado.

Broadside publicly posting a statement provided to a judge by Joaquin de Haro on April 12, 1880 with the support of a lawyer, Mariano Rivadeneyra y Lemos, protesting the failure of the executors of the estate of his deceased uncle, Luis de Haro y Tamariz, to conclude those affairs as of three years later, and stating that there should be a default limitation of one year to the settling of an estate. Initial text: Joaquin de Haro y Ovando, vecino de México, en los autos de la testamentario de Señor mi tio D. Luis de Haro y Tamariz ante Vd. como mejor proceda de derecho, digo: que por la cláusula 13a. del testamento, que corre en autos, se facultó a los Señores albaceas para nombrar sucesores, quienes debian á su vez, nombrar los suyos, y lo mismo todos cuantos siguieran heredando éste encargo. Concludes: Lo que pongo en conocimiento del público para todos los efectos legales, protestando de nulidad de los actos que se executen por las ventos, aplicaciones, etc. etc. que tengan lugar. An account of the resource
Document certifying the baptism of Maria Guadalupe Anselmo Vicente on the 21st of April, 1820 at the Parish Church of Villa de Orizaba (a city in the state of Veracruz). The baptism is recorded in a folio covered in yellow tanned leather wherein the baptisms of Spaniards of Mexico were recorded from 1811 to 1817. The sacristan, Don Manuel Maria de Bocarando, swears to have faithfully copied the original document and he signs his name to it, followed by the line attesting that it was so copied at the behest of Juan Crisostomo Gutierrez. The copy is dated the 11th of September,1819, indicating a scribal error in recording of the baptismal date. The document bears the Polleri watermark. Documento certificando el bautizo de Maria Guadalupe Anselmo Vicente el 21 dia de abril de 1820 en la iglesia parroquial de la Villa de Orizaba (estado de Veracruz). El documento afirma que el bautizo está documentado en un folio forrado en bandana amarilla en el cual se encuentran grabados los bautizos de los Españoles en México. El folio, según dicho documento, contiene lost bautizos efectuados entre los años 1811 a 1817. El sacristán Don Manuel María de Bocarando, firma la copia y jura haber copiado fielmente el documento original, segun la petición de Juan Crisostomo Gutierrez. El certificado (dicha copia del folio original) esta fechado el 11 de Septiembre de 1819 (señalando un error en la anotación de la fecha del bautizo). El documento lleva la filigrana de Polleri.

Document consists of two pages which list two plans for trade guilds. The first, titled Plan No. 1 Guilds, appears to be a household census of a silversmith. It lists the primary couple (Spaniards), two brothers (not the same last name) apprentices, and servants. It details the race and caste of each of the people numbered. The second page, titled Plan No. 2, lists the name of the mayor, Don Juan de Alcantara, who is in charge of the Quarters of Saints Francis, Anthony, and Peter where the silversmith's family and servants reside.Watermark on the first page is a castle pattern with P. and the word Fioretto A fleur de lis and the word Patrone can be seen on the second page. Documento de dos páginas que enumeran dos planes para realizar un seguimiento de los distintos gremios. Estas dos páginas parecen centrarse en el gremio de los plateros. La primera página, titulada 'Plan No. 1º Gremios' parece ser un censo del hogar de un platero. Enumera la pareja principal (Españoles), un par de hermanos (Españoles), aprendices, y los sirvientes de la familia. El documento No. 1º proporciona detalles de la raza y la casta de cada uno de los miembros del hogar. La segunda página, titulada 'Plan Numero 2 del Alcalde de Barrio Don Juan de Alcantara, que estan á a su cuidado las Quadras San Francisco San Antonio y San Pedrodetalla las Parroquias, Calles, numero de casa, y numero de individuos que residen en cada hogar que es la propiedad del platero. Los quadernos estan divididos por raza y casta, Españoles, Indios, Mestizos, Negros, Mulatos, etc. El documento lleva la filigrana de un castillo con una P y la palabra 'Fioretto'. Three hand-written documents related to the payment of 1,105 pesos to Don Juan Burghichani for the manufacture of uniforms for the Public Security Corps (Cuerpo de Seguridad Pública) also referred to as the Public Security Battalion (Batallón de Seguridad Pública). The documents are signed variously April 17,1837, June 9,1837, and April 5, 1842. Tres documentos escritos a mano relacionados con el cobro y pago a Don Juan Burghichani por la fabricación de uniformes del batallón de Seguridad Pública. La cantidad del cobro es de 1,105 pesos. Los documentos llevan varias firmas que datan abril 17,1837, junio 9,1837, y abril 5, 1842.

Legal documents from the Convent of Santo Domingo in Mexico dated from 10 September 1572 to the mid 1620's. These documents touch on various matters associated with the administration of the Convent's property, its boundaries, and even a contract for making sugar. The documents contain seven distinct signatures and an ornate monogram adorns the foot of the first 24 pages. Documentos legales del Convento de Santo Domingo de México. Fechados desde el 10 de septiembre de 1572 hasta la década de 1620. Los documentos se refieren a varios asuntos asociados con la administración de la propiedad del Convento, sus límites, y hasta un contrato para producir azúcar. Los documentos contienen siete distintas firmas y un monograma complejo adorna el pie de las primeras 24 páginas.

Twelve-page handwritten document detailing the itinerary of the fortieth Viceroy of Veracruz, as well as the route from Veracruz to Mexico City along the Road of the Viceroys. The document details the distance between locales, overnight stops, ceremonial functions during the trip, and visits to churches and sanctuaries. It also contains the trip protocol and the route preferred by the Marquis of Croix-a much more direct route into the City of Mexico. Documento de doce páginas, escrito a mano detallando el itinerario del Cuadragésimo Virrey de Veracruz* y la ruta de Veracruz a la ciudad de México por el camino de los virreyes. El documento detalla las leguas de un lugar hacia otro, las pernoctaciones, las funciones ceremoniales del viaje, y visitas a las iglesias y santuarios. También contiene el protocolo del viaje y la ruta preferida por el Marques de Croix-una ruta más directa hacia la ciudad.

Handwritten document whereby Don Jose Maximiliano Fernandez and Don Jose Leandro Riveron sign themselves as witnesses that Don Lucan Francisco Febeun y Banfi is a resident of the City of Mexico and with the same document, they affirm that they have nominated Dr. Lucas as a sub delegate of the same jurisdiction. Signed March 4, 1810. The document is badly trimmed at the top making some of it illegible. It carries official and royal seals and indicates a cost of 12 Spanish Reales. Documento escrito a mano donde Don José Maximiliano Fernandez y Don José Leandro Riveron se apuntan como testigos que Don Lucas Francisco Fabeun y Banfi como residente de la Ciudad de México y con la misma afirman que han nominado a Don Lucas Francisco Fabeun y Banfi como subdelegado de la misma jurisdicción. Firmada el 4 de marzo de 1810. El documento está mal recortado en la parte superior de cada página. Lleva un sello oficial y un sello real, y señala que costó 12 reales.
