Describing the kind of crimes taking place in the area and how it is hard to trust their sources since they lie to protect their lives. Concerned that what goes on in the border is not being reported accurately, he laments that a lot of information is coming from researchers instead of journalists that are on the ground. Recounting some of the gruesome scenes he has reported on, de la Rosa talks about the lack of support and emotional drain that are typical in his profession.&#13;

Jimenez describes how border journalism functions by censuring itself and publishing news that has been given green light by the dominant groups of the area. Jimenez claims that it is possible to maintain their integrity and not fall into corruption as journalists by staying at the margins of news that could endanger  their lives.&#13;
