3 A.M. Raining - the rainwashed [?] brush shown southwest of Dar es Salam. We passed immense cocoanut plantations, and practically no other type of agriculture. Some of palms are very old - others short. But on the whole this sand area in cocoanut. There is no one here who really knows anything about the country and its agriculture. E.W.
