This is a fairly representative photo of this section which is adjacent on the upper side to the region of high rainfall and on the lower to drought plus fire. There are immense numbers of plants with enormous storage roots. Especially vines and low shrubs. Cucurbits and legumes. [Shantz travel journal, Apr. 14, 1920]
