Title
Elephant damage to sisal
Description
Elephant damage to sisal plantation. Apparently they wrap their trunk around the central leaves and pull the whole top out, eat the soft parts and chew and discard the harder portion. They have caused immense damage in this region where they are abundant. All game is abundant here - and you have to carry a rifle to take photos! [Shantz travel journal, Apr. 16, 1920]
