Description
Three main cultural factors influence the flow and course of the Rio Grande. The first is the large and growing agricultural network, including diversion dams, reservoirs, and irrigation canals. The second is the development of urban water and power systems, and the third is the international management of a verifiable and dependable border line. This view is from the causeway at the Falcon Dam between the sister cities of Laredo and Nuevo Laredo and McAllen and Reynosa.
