Letter signed by Melchor de Peramás, a civil officer, and directed to the Reverend Father General of the Order of Saint Hippolytus. The writer requests that the members of that same order not attend the proffered surgical classes and not trouble themselves to attend to the patients interned in the city's Royal Hospital. The September 21, 1773 date of the document directs our attention to the role of the clergy in the very political Mexican Medical Licensing Board known as the Protomedicato. Carta firmada for Melchor de Peramás, un oficial civil, y dirigida al Reverendo Padre General de la Orden de San Hipólito. El escritor pide que los religiosos de esa Orden no cursen las clases de cirugía ni se preocupen de atender a los internados en el Hospital Real de esta ciudad. La carta termina, México, veintiuno de septiember 1773. Esta fecha dirije nuestra atención a la función del clero en la política del Protomedicato en México.
