Historical Documents
Various documents from the papers of the Empire Ranch reveal the daily ins and outs of life on the Empire Ranch in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Such things as bills of sale for land and cattle, agreements for brands and school houses, permits for grazing, certificates of cattle inspection, membership dues notices from the Arizona Cattle Growers Association and various letters are among the documents selected for this web exhibit. These documents present several different aspects of life at the turn of the century and the types of business transactions a cattle ranch would have to deal with in order to function and operate successfully.
