BORDER FUTURES

Over the last two years, the Center for Cultural Power has worked with artists, storytellers, and advocates from the border region, as well as ethnographers and other cultural workers to gather the stories and insights that helped inform this Border Futures 2023 Creative Brief. In the Spring of 2022, we conducted workshops and in-depth interviews with the Border Narrative Project cohort to identify the narratives and shared values that participants were most aligned around. We are deeply humbled by their incredible strength, creativity, resiliency, and innovation.

The Center for Cultural Power is a women of color, artist-led nonprofit nonpartisan organization, inspiring artists and culture makers to imagine a world where power is distributed equitably and where we live in harmony with nature.

We create intersectional stories and content addressing issues of migration, climate, gender, and racial justice. Igniting change at the intersection of art, culture, and social justice. The Center for Cultural Power organizes BIPOC artists and culture makers to use their creative practice to shift worldviews from domination to collaboration and interdependence.
