Border Narrative Project

For the Border Narrative Project, our mission is to revolutionize the narrative surrounding the U.S.-Mexican border. Throughout history, this narrative has been dehumanizing, xenophobic, and racist. Our goal is to dismantle these negative perceptions by highlighting the power of storytelling from those directly impacted by this historical narrative. By reshaping the narrative and preserving live testimonies, we aim to empower future generations and foster a sense of community. We believe in challenging the negative stereotypes imposed on immigrants and leveraging their experiences to create hope, opportunities, and support within the immigration community.

The New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) is a nonprofit organization that offers free legal assistance and resources to immigrants residing in New Mexico. Their primary objective is to promote justice and equality by empowering low-income immigrant communities through various collaborative legal services, advocacy efforts, educational initiatives, and community resources. NMILC works in partnership with numerous organizations throughout the community to disseminate information about legal issues affecting immigrants and provide policy guidance. They strive to ensure that immigrants have access to accurate and reliable legal information, empowering them to make informed decisions about their rights and options.
