Interview with Balbina Flores

Balbina Flores discusses her work as a representative of Reporters Without Borders and their challenges in defending freedom of expression in Mexico. Flores criticizes the new office of the special prosecutor aimed to investigate and protect journalists and freedom of expression, claiming it has not lived up to its responsibilities. Balbina Flores describe su trabajo como representante en la asociación Reporteros Sin Fronteras y los retos que enfrentan defendiendo la libertad de expresión en México. Flores habla también sobre el problema de impunidad en México y como el gobierno no ha hecho lo suficiente para ayudar a periodistas y poner bajo control la violencia en el país. Flores es crítica de la nueva Fiscalía Especial para la Atención de Delitos cometidos en contra de la Libertad de Expresión (FEADLE), la cual ella asegura no ha cumplido con sus responsabilidades. Flores cree que se necesita de mayor indignación pública en contra de la violencia, las amenazas y el silenciamiento en México.
